Please consult with your doctor if you have medical conditions that may be exacerbated at high elevations. You may experience some minor irritations such as a slight headache and mild dizziness, but symptoms should disappear as we descend to lower elevations. Eat a lighter meal before heading to higher altitude, stay well-hydrated, and try to avoid caffeine and alcohol.
Safety
Ecuador is generally a safe country to visit. However, it has recently been in the news due to increased gang-related activity near Guayaquil and several coastal cities. The US Department of State currently designates Ecuador as Level 2: Exercise increased caution. We have been actively communicating with Ecuadorian residents and friends currently living in Ecuador are confident that the areas we will visit on this trip remain safe. We continue to be vigilant regarding safety, as it is our utmost priority, and if at any point in time safety conditions change and we deem them to be unsafe in the areas we will travel to, we will cancel the trip immediately. Please familiarize yourself with our Terms and Conditions.

Ecuador: Mountains of Magic Tour Reviews
This tour is a MUST DO! Ryan is such an accommodating and salt of the earth kind of human. He did not disappoint! We hiked out to an amazing vista with breathtaking views all around for a wonderful picnic, stopping to appreciate the abundance of wildlife the Rocky Mountains has to offer along the way.
This is hands down the best guided tour our family
has ever been on. Ryan’s personality, charisma and abundant kindness made it feel as though we were all family.
Best bird tour we ever took. Ryan’s knowledge is unsurpassed. We saw Golden eagles, Swainson’s, Red tail, Burrowing Owls, waterfowl, and loads of songbirds…52 species in one day. Thanks!
My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic experience on the Beak and Talon tour! Ryan helped us learn SO much in just the one adventure. Aside from getting us so close to six species of mesmerizing raptors, Ryan is such an experienced, fun, informative, and hospitable guide. Usually the thought of spending the entire day in the car with a complete stranger would make us shy away from an experience like this, but Ryan was so genuine and interesting to speak with the time truly flew by.
Any adventure with Birding Man I would confidently say is an experience you wouldn’t want to miss!
